Ashley and Jason planned their wedding to be remembered, in true Gryffindor style! Set in Laingsburg at the Lakeview Banquet Center on Round Lake, no detail was missed in playing homage to their favorite piece of literature, Harry Potter. Ashley's plans were brought to life by Lynn Lucas with W.E.D, also known as wizarding planner extraordinaire. She devised a fantastical world at the Lakeview, with spirited Potter details throughout, all while keeping the focus on Ashley and Jason. Magical, indeed!
The ceremony was held in the lower walkout level that leads to the side garden and willow tree (er, Whomping Willow, to be exact). The space has been transformed recently into an area suitable for an intimate wedding. Large windows look out onto the perfect view of the lake and affords guests quite a visual treat. Ashley and Jason were married under swags of candlelit greens with natural light pouring in from the windows. The aisle was graced with pages from Ashley's favorite books and antique photo frames. The scene was set perfectly for their sweet, tearful vows.
Following the ceremony, they snuck out under the willow for some quick photos, being careful not to get seriously injured, of course. :) Then it was inside to the big celebration. The rooms were filled with their collection of Potter-inspired memorabilia. There was a pensieve for writing memories of Ashley and Jason and an owlery for card collecting. Book stacks, goblets and book-page flowers adorned the tables as centerpieces. I'm pretty sure Butterbeer was on the menu, as well. So many great details! There was something around every corner... nooks were transformed into Platform 9 and 3/4 or Honeydukes sweet shop. It was just delightful and I'm sure will be remembered for a very long time to come!
Ashley and Jason, thank you for letting me tag along on your adventure to Hogwarts. It was certainly a most magical day!!
