When I first sat down with Kate and Andy, I knew their wedding was going to be different.  Of course, every wedding is unique.  However, Kate and Andy had very specific requests and ideas for how their wedding day would lay out and exactly how photography would fit into that puzzle.  No fuss, no frills.  It was to be entirely awesome and perfectly Kate and Andy.

The ceremony was held at All Saint's Episcopal Church in East Lansing, which was a beautiful backdrop for their vows.  Kate chose soft shades of slate blues and grays, with ivory florals and greens for accents.  We planned an abbreviated portrait session in the gardens at Michigan State University and let the rest of the day unfold in the most relaxed way possible.

Following some short and sweet snaps in the garden, we were off to Old Town Lansing and UrbanBeat Event Center, which was to be the stage for their post-wedding party.  What a fun space for a small intimate wedding!!  The vibe of Old Town is always colorful and interesting!  UrbanBeat offers a very casual atmosphere for guests to celebrate the bride and groom, with subtle urban decor that's the perfect contrast for chic wedding accents.  The space held a combination of conversationalists and dance enthusiasts and everyone seemed to love celebrating Kate and Andy.

Wishing you both so much love and happiness in the years to come!!  Cheers!  xoxo
