Maggie and Jake, Jake and Maggie.  Their day was just overflowing with laughter and love.  It couldn't have been a more perfect reflection of the two of them.  They planned their May wedding at Woldumar Nature Center in Lansing, a hidden gem for outdoor, rustic weddings.  It's got everything you'd hope for in an outdoor venue AND a huge barn for the reception.  They offer ceremonies in the woods... so romantic down a winding path.  The grounds are available for touring and photos during the day... there are hills, stands of pine, ponds and fields.  If you've never been there and you're a nature-lover... run, don't walk.  It's so worth it!  

Maggie and Jake chose to make their day everything they wanted and nothing they didn't.  They did away with any standard tradition that wasn't their style or taste... and it was perfection.  Their ceremony under the trees was short and sweet, incorporating bits of their personalities at every step.  Their vows were a subtle blend of hilarious, tender and sweet and had many of their guests in tears by the end.  Those are my favorite ceremonies... the ones in which the couples pulls out bits of their heart and shares it with everyone.  It's always so moving to see!

After they said "I do," we snuck off for some quite photos around the grounds of the nature center.  We didn't have long, but Maggie and Jake seemed to really soak up the time they had together before their reception began.  And what a reception!  They chose to forego a DJ and instead hosted some rousing yard games and mingled with guests.  After dinner, they chose trivia for the nights activities!!  Trivia games are very close to their heart as a couple, so it was a must on their list of ways to entertain their guests.  What a fun way to start their life together.  Congratulations Maggie and Jake!!
