Summertime in Michigan can be many things... breezy, sunny, clear, cloudy, stormy, dreary. This wedding day was HOT. Sultry, steamy, messy hot. The kind of hot that makes you just want to collapse in a pile of shade. Or air conditioning. :) Liz and Ben's wedding day was nonetheless a gorgeous one. Bountiful, blue skies, complete with endless sunshine that made you feel that their future was very bright, indeed.
Their ceremony was held at the stunning St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing, an absolutely breathtaking building with gothic revival architecture. Built in 1911, it feels as if you are transported back in time when the city of Lansing was very different than it is today. It's a beautiful spot to start a life together.
Following that, we toured Old Town Lansing for bridal party photos, which of course afforded a very fun backdrop. We snuck under trees and shade as much as possible and afterward hit Michigan State's campus, as well. It was a whirlwind of portraits, but we were able to capture the feel that Liz was hoping for. Despite the searing temperatures!
The reception took place at the Huntington Club, atop Michigan State's Spartan Stadium. As any Spartan fan knows, it's a seriously awesome venue for your wedding celebration... offering amazing panoramic views of the stadium, combined with a perfect celebratory atmosphere. What an incredible day! Thank you Liz and Ben for trusting us to capture your beautiful wedding! Wishing you all the love in the world!
